Bible Study (week 1)
We are tasked as Christians to read through our Bibles because it helps bring us closer to becoming the people God wants us to be. However, for most of us, we don't know where to begin or we feel we need to have a theological degree to understand what is going on in the text. So often then we throw up our hands and instead choose to ignore looking at our Bibles completely. Here at Gethsemane, one of the focuses of our ministry is to give people the resources they need to help with their faith life. So over the next couple of weeks, and months, I would like to start a Bible study here on the website. This first week, we are going to start with the basics. What Bible do we use? It seems like an easy question but there are hundreds of different Bibles out there, so it is not an easy choice. Click on the Youtube video above as we talk about looking for a Bible to use for our study.
I have been a little more long winded recently with this last sermon series. I have added a video with the extra piece I took out talking about how the Trial of Jesus gives us some good insight on how to get through what we are going through. I haven't blogged a lot before, but maybe I will give it a go. I was thinking of adding a Bible study where anybody can pop in and out and maybe this will be the best way to give it a go. Thanks for reading! PP
Pastor Paul. I hope you find these reflections insightful and help you in your faith journey!
