We are two weeks into our Bible. How is it going? Is it getting easier to read the Bible or harder? What are the challenges with reading the text? Is it too late in the day when you read the text or too early? Are you too distracted? Is it the language of the text? So this week, if it feels more like a chore, I want you to take some time and ask yourself why it seems to be more of a chore. Maybe there are some adjustments you can make because this week's text has a lot of good stuff for us to dig into. We have our first sign/miracle; Jesus cleans out the temple; he talks about his upcoming death; and finally Jesus discusses briefly who he trusts. Please leave your questions or comments below. Next week's is John chapter 3. Happy reading!

So what was it like to read your first chapter in the Gospel of John? Was it fun? Was it confusing? Was it boring? This week's text is important because it allows us to get a little bit of a grip into what the author of John feels important. Many times as we examine the Bible, the stories or words can seem pretty random. However, as we move the Gospel of John, I would like you to look at this text with a different mindset, a mindset which asks, what is the author trying to get us to see. The Gospel writer is very intention with the wording and the stories which are used. So let us dive into this week's text. After watching the Youtube video next week's assignment is to look at the second chapter of John.
So you have found a Bible you think will fit your particular style? Last time we said that there were 66 books in the Bible, so where do we start? Is the Bible best read if we start with Genesis or read through Revelation? Do we read one chapter at a time or multiple chapters? Do we read just a few verses a day or one chunk at a time? Check out this week Youtube Video and see how we plan on going forward.
